The Truth is out There!

Before I get started let me show you a quick video related to the stuff I will be talking about.

Ok, Have you seen enough? Does it make you sick to your stomach? I want you all to see something. Press play on that video again and pause it at exactly 2:31. Go ahead humor me.....

Now look into "Dr. Chandler's" face. What do you see? PURE EVIL. The look on his face is one of utter contempt and and mockery. He is doing the dirty work of the one who has sent him. To lure you in, to give you tastes that are there and gone...leaving you wanting more. To give you scantily clad young women to serve you death on a platter. To destroy the temple that God has given us. To destroy lives and tear families apart. In the video he says that they are the only honest restaurant in the market. Yes they are Honest, they tell you that these things they serve will kill you. But what they don't tell you is that the freedom you think you enjoy by walking into one of these "establishments" to eat yourself into oblivion, is not indeed freedom at all but the worse form of slavery there is. For in your so called freedom, you are committing suicide, you are falling pray to the evil one and to his tricks. You are dying a slow death while you could be enjoying everlasting life in the presence of the Holy spirit. And while in that holy presence you are freed from death and you are given the knowledge and tools to know how to live a long healthy life.

The Lord told us, beware the wolf in sheep's clothing.

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves." (Matthew 7:15)

We are hypnotized into believing that these merchants of death are offering us something good because it is cheap and tasty. But what is tasty? What is good. That is relative. We only believe these things to be good because, that is all we know. we have been deceived.

Don't be misled--you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Galatians 6:7

Maybe there is a hint in there telling us that we should be growing and eating more organic foods.

Listen I have no problems with eating hamburgers. There are ways to prepare them to be more healthy. But when the ultimate goal is to create an unhealthy mess to be consumed, then to me that is a sin, it is unGodly, it is evil.

Here is the thing. God wants what's best for us because his love for us is unconditional. It is endless. So naturally he wants us to be in the best health possible so that we can bring grace to him. He is always showing us ways to do this, giving us hints and little gifts that help us along the way. He will bring you the resources you need, to get fit. Give you a bit of extra money so that you can buy a gym membership or a Wii Fit game. He will provide you with information on how to eat the best foods. In my case God has provided my wife and I with health coverage so that we can afford to go to Simply for Life. We have an appointment next week and we are both looking forward to it very much.

I think one of the most important thing he provides us is self love. Once you become at one with the holy spirit, things change. You cultivate a love inside your heart that is kind and understanding. You become patient with yourself and others...although you may get grumpy here and there...but we are human after all. That Holy Spirit allows you to love yourself and to make the best choices in terms of what you eat and what activity you do.

"You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, `Love your neighbor as yourself.’ ” Luke 10:27

When we get to this state of mind, or this state of spirit we take great joy in everything we do and in the things that do us well. We work for good and not for evil. We eat the everlasting food.

"Do not labor for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.” John 6:27

We know that the food he speaks of is living food. The holy spirit. But we also strive to eat the food that pleases God. The food that makes us well. The food that gives us strength to do his good work here on earth. When we are strong we can use our feet and spread the gospel. Go to other countries where the poor and the needy are waiting for our help.

When the king of Babylon besieged Jerusalem. He appointed some Israelis to be part of his court to teach and to help his people. Daniel and his followers were called there and were given the right to eat of of the food from the Royal table. Daniel sensed that this was not what God wanted. God had another plan for them to stay healthy.

"8 But Daniel resolved that he would not defile himself with the king's food, or with the wine that he drank. Therefore he asked the chief of the eunuchs to allow him not to defile himself. 9 And God gave Daniel favor and compassion in the sight of the chief of the eunuchs, 10 and the chief of the eunuchs said to Daniel, “I fear my lord the king, who assigned your food and your drink; for why should he see that you were in worse condition than the youths who are of your own age? So you would endanger my head with the king.” 11 Then Daniel said to the steward whom the chief of the eunuchs had assigned over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, 12 “Test your servants for ten days; let us be given vegetables to eat and water to drink. 13 Then let our appearance and the appearance of the youths who eat the king's food be observed by you, and deal with your servants according to what you see.” 14 So he listened to them in this matter, and tested them for ten days. 15 At the end of ten days it was seen that they were better in appearance and fatter in flesh than all the youths who ate the king's food. 16 So the steward took away their food and the wine they were to drink, and gave them vegetables.

17 As for these four youths, God gave them learning and skill in all literature and wisdom, and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. 18 At the end of the time, when the king had commanded that they should be brought in, the chief of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar. 19 And the king spoke with them, and among all of them none was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. Therefore they stood before the king. 20 And in every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters that were in all his kingdom. 21 And Daniel was there until the first year of King Cyrus." Daniel 1 1:8-21

This to me is one of the most amazing biblical examples of what God can do for us when we choose to eat healthy. During my journey this passage will be my guidepost as a reminder of my faith that God's and that he will not forsake me because this is what he wants for me. My prayer is that everyone who is on the same road as me can find something to remind them that he is there and his hand is guiding us.
