The Truth is out There!

Before I get started let me show you a quick video related to the stuff I will be talking about.

Ok, Have you seen enough? Does it make you sick to your stomach? I want you all to see something. Press play on that video again and pause it at exactly 2:31. Go ahead humor me.....

Now look into "Dr. Chandler's" face. What do you see? PURE EVIL. The look on his face is one of utter contempt and and mockery. He is doing the dirty work of the one who has sent him. To lure you in, to give you tastes that are there and gone...leaving you wanting more. To give you scantily clad young women to serve you death on a platter. To destroy the temple that God has given us. To destroy lives and tear families apart. In the video he says that they are the only honest restaurant in the market. Yes they are Honest, they tell you that these things they serve will kill you. But what they don't tell you is that the freedom you think you enjoy by walking into one of these "establishments" to eat yourself into oblivion, is not indeed freedom at all but the worse form of slavery there is. For in your so called freedom, you are committing suicide, you are falling pray to the evil one and to his tricks. You are dying a slow death while you could be enjoying everlasting life in the presence of the Holy spirit. And while in that holy presence you are freed from death and you are given the knowledge and tools to know how to live a long healthy life.

The Lord told us, beware the wolf in sheep's clothing.

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves." (Matthew 7:15)

We are hypnotized into believing that these merchants of death are offering us something good because it is cheap and tasty. But what is tasty? What is good. That is relative. We only believe these things to be good because, that is all we know. we have been deceived.

Don't be misled--you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Galatians 6:7

Maybe there is a hint in there telling us that we should be growing and eating more organic foods.

Listen I have no problems with eating hamburgers. There are ways to prepare them to be more healthy. But when the ultimate goal is to create an unhealthy mess to be consumed, then to me that is a sin, it is unGodly, it is evil.

Here is the thing. God wants what's best for us because his love for us is unconditional. It is endless. So naturally he wants us to be in the best health possible so that we can bring grace to him. He is always showing us ways to do this, giving us hints and little gifts that help us along the way. He will bring you the resources you need, to get fit. Give you a bit of extra money so that you can buy a gym membership or a Wii Fit game. He will provide you with information on how to eat the best foods. In my case God has provided my wife and I with health coverage so that we can afford to go to Simply for Life. We have an appointment next week and we are both looking forward to it very much.

I think one of the most important thing he provides us is self love. Once you become at one with the holy spirit, things change. You cultivate a love inside your heart that is kind and understanding. You become patient with yourself and others...although you may get grumpy here and there...but we are human after all. That Holy Spirit allows you to love yourself and to make the best choices in terms of what you eat and what activity you do.

"You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, `Love your neighbor as yourself.’ ” Luke 10:27

When we get to this state of mind, or this state of spirit we take great joy in everything we do and in the things that do us well. We work for good and not for evil. We eat the everlasting food.

"Do not labor for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.” John 6:27

We know that the food he speaks of is living food. The holy spirit. But we also strive to eat the food that pleases God. The food that makes us well. The food that gives us strength to do his good work here on earth. When we are strong we can use our feet and spread the gospel. Go to other countries where the poor and the needy are waiting for our help.

When the king of Babylon besieged Jerusalem. He appointed some Israelis to be part of his court to teach and to help his people. Daniel and his followers were called there and were given the right to eat of of the food from the Royal table. Daniel sensed that this was not what God wanted. God had another plan for them to stay healthy.

"8 But Daniel resolved that he would not defile himself with the king's food, or with the wine that he drank. Therefore he asked the chief of the eunuchs to allow him not to defile himself. 9 And God gave Daniel favor and compassion in the sight of the chief of the eunuchs, 10 and the chief of the eunuchs said to Daniel, “I fear my lord the king, who assigned your food and your drink; for why should he see that you were in worse condition than the youths who are of your own age? So you would endanger my head with the king.” 11 Then Daniel said to the steward whom the chief of the eunuchs had assigned over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, 12 “Test your servants for ten days; let us be given vegetables to eat and water to drink. 13 Then let our appearance and the appearance of the youths who eat the king's food be observed by you, and deal with your servants according to what you see.” 14 So he listened to them in this matter, and tested them for ten days. 15 At the end of ten days it was seen that they were better in appearance and fatter in flesh than all the youths who ate the king's food. 16 So the steward took away their food and the wine they were to drink, and gave them vegetables.

17 As for these four youths, God gave them learning and skill in all literature and wisdom, and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. 18 At the end of the time, when the king had commanded that they should be brought in, the chief of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar. 19 And the king spoke with them, and among all of them none was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. Therefore they stood before the king. 20 And in every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters that were in all his kingdom. 21 And Daniel was there until the first year of King Cyrus." Daniel 1 1:8-21

This to me is one of the most amazing biblical examples of what God can do for us when we choose to eat healthy. During my journey this passage will be my guidepost as a reminder of my faith that God's and that he will not forsake me because this is what he wants for me. My prayer is that everyone who is on the same road as me can find something to remind them that he is there and his hand is guiding us.

Another Door Opens

Well here I am to punch in for another exciting edition of bearing my soul and searching for insight through reflection. Is everybody in-the ceremony is about to begin. As I shared with you last time, the Lord has been a major driving force for me on this mission to health and wellness. I have gained heightened awareness in the past month or so. Thank you lord for providing when I have asked of you. I praise you. Light bulbs are coming on and doors are opening. There are many aspects to health and wellness and I am being led into all of them, all at once. This truly is a very exciting time in my life. Many people at 500 some odd pounds would give up and let go, not this guy. Every day I am so amazed at the resolve that God has given me. This is what I asked for and he has provided. I'll tell you, there is no better feeling than to know that through your dedication, you are accomplishing your goals, one step at a time. As cliché as this sounds, It doesn't happen overnight. For all you star wars nerds out there, the death star wasn't built in one day! I say this to all of you out there, all of you that are in the same place as me. Listen, I know how you feel. I know you're hurting, both physically and mentally. I know how difficult it is to go in public with all the eyes on you. People stare and make fun. I know you cry tears at night. I know you’re depressed. You feel alone don't you? You struggle with temptation everyday. But most of all, I know about those unresolved things just floating in your head tormenting and torturing you. How could anybody possibly love ME? Why was I treated that why by my father? WHY, WHY, WHY???. You've come to a point where you don't even love yourself anymore. And you continue to question everything, even your own existence. But you see, we can't ask why. We can't presume to understand gods will. Adam and Eve tried that in Eden and look where that got us, Banished, angry and walking on dirt that grows weeds unless taken care of properly. The point I'm trying to make is, let's not ask why, let's ask HOW. Lord, HOW did I get to this point? Lord, HOW do I change? It's real simple, trust me on this---ask and you shall receive. He will give you the strength to love yourself again and he will not leave your side when you are on your knees and ready to throw in the towel. Just do it. And as your doing it pray for him to lead you to the things you need to make this happen. My friends this is what he is doing for me. He is leading me right to the resources I NEED to change my life. God wants us to be well, he gave us one body, a temple in which to invite the holy spirit in. We need to take care of that temple. He wants this for us god wants us to prosper.

"Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers." - 3 John1:2

Here is an example of how doors have been opening in my life. About a month ago we went to a brunch and study session of the Christian book" a purpose driven life" At this lunch a brother informed me that a Christian based Natural Health healer by the name of Rudy Davis along with his wife Jeanette, were going to be giving seminars in the area. (By the way this is their website) http://www.baysidenaturalhealth.com/

My Christian brother gave me his card and told me to contact him for the information about the seminar. I sent him an email and he gave me info to find out about the seminar. I gave the people organizing the seminar a call and they told me how to find it. It turned out that I missed the first night but I could continue from where they left off. So off I went on a Monday night. I made my way to Dartmouth at a church. The people welcomed me as I walked in. I sat down and opened my mind and heart to taking in the information I needed. The seminar was opened with prayer, which gave me a good feeling that I was being led to the right place. The first session was all about movement and exercise. The useful information just came flooding in. Here is a little sample of something I wrote that night "Healthy eating without exercise is useless. Thank you God for getting me on this path and keeping me focused. Praise you lord for giving me the gift of movement. This is the tool that will bring me change. It was hard to move in the beginning, but it is getting easier and easier. This is truly a blessing."

Over the next few nights, The information continued to come. For example I learned that prolonged inactivity is equal to smoking a pack of cigarettes a day. We learned that our body has many natural processes that allow it to heal and get rid of toxins. Some of the most important things involved in healing and getting rid of toxins are: drinking water, chewing our food properly and proper elimination (using the washroom) For example, in terms of chewing our food: Let's say you're eating an apple and you do not chew it properly, it can sit in your stomach and ferment, causing internal intoxication The same goes for meat, if it is not chewed properly it can sit in our stomach and putrefy, causing toxins to be distributed in our blood. Some pretty heavy stuff eh....? It made me think a lot about the things I am putting in my body and what goes on in there. I definitely think these are things that God wants me to know. Here's another little prayer I wrote during this seminar:

"God, my body knows exactly what to do when it's getting rid of toxins. It can build new blood vessels. It can build new arteries. This is not just chance. All our body processes are not just co-incidences. You made this so, Praise to you!"

One of the most important things I learned from this seminar is the value of raw foods. Rudy and his wife Jeanette spoke to us about the incredible benefits that we can get from eating recipes made from raw vegetables. In most cases, cooking vegetables drains them of their vitamins and nutrients and our body misses out on what it needs to fight toxins. This information was very valuable. We got samples and recipes for raw foods. Some of which I have tried and really like. I have also joined a support group with some of the people attending the seminar. We have already had a meeting and I have learned some new things. I really feel like the lord is giving me an arsenal of info to prepare the way for my life as a healthy man. I will speak more about these raw food recipes in future blogs. I will also be speaking more about Rudy and Jeanette Davis and their philosophies. They have videos that I hope to get soon so that I can share this gift of health with people around me.

It was a wonderful learning experience to be at that seminar. I really got a sense that the almighty wants us ALL to be well. He speaks to us every day, I really do think we just need to stop and listen to him. On the other hand, the dark one wants to take us down and wants to keep us in a state of unhealthy living. Every day we are bombarded with cheeseburger commercials, Pop and chips, cheap meals. DEAL, DEAL, DEAL!!!!! Get your ice cream fix..... mmmmmmmmmmm Chocolate is sexy......it's dizzying. Worship the golden cow and get fat while you do it.!! It's almost like being hypnotized and being in a deep sleep of ignorance and false bliss. But I tell you, once you really start being aware and start seeing the truth in the way of health, then you really will feel the bliss. Then you really will hear God's voice.

Ephesians 5:14 has "Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."

Wow...that was a lot of sharing, I'm beat…… time for a nap. Till next time my friends. Stay strong and God Bless. In my next blog I will speak to you of how we are being deceived. till then check this out. http://www.heartattackgrill.com/ http://www.youtube.com/heartattackgrill#p/u/3/FpE37nlAb8E Yup the Dark one is pulling out all the stops, Heart disease and sex rolled up into one big Mockery Wrap!

Yours In Christ

Well this is it

Well ...this is it...here I go. I'm laying it all out on the table. My life is an open book. This journey that I am on right now is not for the faint of heart. So, I advised you if you are not into blood and guts, this may not be the blog for you. But as they say, No GUTS, No GLORY. Alright, enough of the Melodramatic crap, let me just get down to it.

My name is Michael Gaudet, I am 33 years old Christian who lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I have a wonderful wife, I am a musician and I love to work with people and to learn about history and different cultures. Oh and I love to cook. I'm so good add it that my wife refuses to coo anymore. I guess I'm a pretty typical guy. However, my life is not as typical as it may seem, I have suffered from obesity since childhood. My weight has always gone up and down but at this point in my life is when I have weighed the most I have ever weighed. On Wednesday the 3rd day of February, I weighed in at 522 pounds. It hit me like a ton of bricks. It is a very overwhelming feeling to know that I am carrying all this weight. Just a few weeks ago a friend began helping me in the gym, somewhat like a unofficial trainer and he wanted to know my weight so that we could have a number to refer to. This is the number I came back to him with. 522....I couldn't believe it......I felt weak just thinking about it....

NOW...here is where my faith kicks in to this story. In October 2009 I went to a Christian retreat in the Sambro area at a beautiful lakeside lodge. I got there and just let myself go with the flow. I remember one of the first things I did was tend to the fireplace in the main lodge. I have always been that kind of person who liked doing things like that. I enjoy the feeling of doing something for others. This weekend retreat was a special time for me because I had quite a few intense experiences. One was that I kinda took on the role of guardian for these two twin brothers who where there with their mom. The kids were known as troubled youth and they were being a little difficult to manage so I kept a close eye on them. I kept them in check but also I made sure they didn't get hurt. This meant that at times I had to separate myself from the regular activities of the retreat but I felt blessed to be the one to watch over them. The Most important thing that happened to me on that weekend was that, after years of uncertainty, I decided to fully give myself to the lord Jesus and accept him as my savior. It was the most peaceful feeling that I have ever had. It felt like a heavy weight was lifted off of me and that I could breath again. I came back home a changed man after that weekend, I'm pretty sure my wife could see the difference in me.

So how does this tie into my obesity and my training. Well, here it is. I have tried lots of diets and gone to many gyms and so on. I have tried and tried and tried and I have failed and failed and failed. "So", you say, "What's different this time?" Well my friends, this time, I have Jesus. My faith in him is the rock I stand on. When I started training a few weeks ago I prayed for the lord to give me the strength to get through this the whole step of the way. I asked for him to guide me through the darkness and to pick me up when I feel like giving up. My friends, I have full faith that he is doing this for me. I only just started my training but I am feeling a ferocity and hunger for this like I never have before. I am very focused on what needs to be done. Like Yoda said " There is only do or do not do, there is no try." This time I DO!!! No Holds Barred it's the fight of my life, the fight for my life, for my future, to be here, to be alive, to conquer and to accomplish many things. This is real and this is now and I invite you to join me on this journey. Like I said before , it might get bloody and gory and it's not going to be easy. There will be some ups and downs on the turbulent seas. But the shore is there and it is attainable. Captain says, "Full steam ahead" They'll be no turnin' back now Arrrrrrrgggghhhh!!!
